I was born at Dr. Maguire’s Clinic June 10th, 1942, four blocks from my grandparents house. After a brief stay in Augusta my mother and father and I moved to Chicago for a year. When we came back to Augusta they got a divorce and my father moved to California.
My mother moved to Memphis to work. She remarried and they came to Augusta to get me. I threw a fit and my PaPa told them, I would just live with them (PaPa and Mama Nelson) and that’s where I lived for the next eighteen years! — with Larry West Jr and 4 others.
